Nebraska and Boys Town
Johnny Edward McMahon grew up in Nebraska. His father died when Johnny was very young, and the family lived with limited means. As a teenager, he attended Boys Town, where he found structure, mentorship, and a work ethic he carried into adulthood.
A life of ideas
In his twenties, Johnny left Nebraska in search of opportunity. He lived and worked in Kansas City, Dallas, and other cities, taking varied jobs while continuing to write and develop creative projects.
He eventually settled in Las Vegas. There he developed Flying Saucer Resorts, a large-scale hospitality and entertainment concept. The project was never built, but its plans, renderings, and historical material remain an important part of his personal archive.
Learning from prison
Johnny was convicted in Nevada in 2008. From prison, he has spent nearly two decades studying appellate and post-conviction procedure, preparing handwritten filings, and trying to keep an extensive record organized.
Johnny is not a lawyer, and PostVerdicts does not present him as a legal expert. His contribution was lived experience: he knew firsthand how difficult it can be to identify important issues, procedural barriers, and questions that still need investigation.
The origin of PostVerdicts
Johnny originally proposed a tool called CERTA that could help convicted people evaluate and organize their cases. OmniPro Labs developed that concept into PostVerdicts.
